Miguel Lopez de Legazpi is the first General of the Philippines, along being the Philippines first Governor-General. A Spanish navigator and governor of Basque tribe descent, he was born on Circa 1502 in the Iberian Empire. He was officially in office as Governor-General of the Philippines from April 27, 1565 until August 20, 1572, where he died in Intramuros,Manila.
